01FAQ
Before you drop the vehicle off
How do I know whether my vehicle is a city car, a saloon or an SUV?+
The rule is simple: city car = a small town car (Clio, 208, Polo, Yaris); saloon and hatchback = anything in between (Golf, 308, Mégane, A-Class); SUV, MPV and van = anything taller or longer (3008, Tiguan, Scénic, Kangoo). If you are torn between two, take the larger category: we adjust when the car comes in, and you are never charged more than you paid online.
What counts as a “panel”?+
A single piece of bodywork taken on its own: a wing, a door, a bonnet, a tailgate, a bumper, or one chip in the windscreen. A scratched door and a dented wing make two panels. You can book up to 6 of them on the same service — each service has its own maximum, shown in the configurator; beyond that, write to us and we will quote.
And what if I book the wrong service?+
That is not a problem. When the vehicle comes in, we look at the damage with you: if the service booked is not the right one, we say so and we adjust. A price difference in your favour is refunded; a dearer service is never carried out without your agreement.
Should I wash the car before dropping it off?+
No. Dirty bodywork does not get in the way of the check when the car comes in, and the area worked on is cleaned before the vehicle goes back. Just take any valuables out of the cabin: we cannot be held responsible for them.
02FAQ
Bodywork, paint and glass
Paintless dent removal or respraying the panel: how do I choose?+
If the paint is not broken and the dent is not on an edge, paintless dent removal is enough: the metal is worked back into shape from behind, the original paint is kept, and it is done within the day. As soon as the paint is chipped or the metal has stretched, the panel has to be straightened, filled and resprayed.
Will the colour be an exact match?+
The paint is mixed from the vehicle's manufacturer colour code, then adjusted to the shade of your bodywork as the sun has aged it. On a single panel, the paint is blended into the neighbouring panels so that no edge shows.
Can a windscreen chip always be repaired?+
It can be repaired by resin injection as long as it stays smaller than a two-euro coin, out of the driver's field of vision and more than five centimetres from the edge. Beyond that, the windscreen is replaced. Book the chip repair: if it cannot be done, we tell you when the car comes in, and the replacement only goes ahead once you have agreed to the difference in price.
My windscreen has a camera or a rain sensor, is that included?+
The replacement price covers a windscreen matching the original and its seal. Recalibrating a driver-assistance camera is a separate operation, priced on quotation: mention it in the “further details” field when you book.
03FAQ
Booking, payment, cancellation
Is the slot I choose guaranteed?+
The drop-off date and time you give are a request. We confirm the exact slot within 24 hrs. If the time is not available, we offer you the nearest one; if that does not suit you, you are refunded in full.
Why do I have to pay online when booking?+
Because a workshop slot booked and not taken is a slot lost for everyone. Payment is made on a secure Mollie page (Bank card). We never see your card number, and no bank details are stored on this site.
Can I cancel or move my booking?+
Free of charge up to 48 hrs before you drop the vehicle off, and at any time during the 14-day withdrawal period that follows the booking: you are refunded in full. After those deadlines, 30% of the amount paid is retained. Moving the booking remains possible at any time, subject to availability.
Can I book several services at once?+
Yes. Each service goes into the basket with its own date, and you pay for the lot in one go. For several services on the same vehicle, give the same date, and add collection and return or the courtesy car to only one of them: they are counted per service, not per vehicle.
How long is the car off the road?+
Every service sheet says so: within the day for dent removal, an oil change or a chip; one to two working days for paintwork, the time it takes to cure in the booth. A courtesy car can be booked as an option, charged per day off the road.
04FAQ
Collection, courtesy cars and insurance claims
How does collection and return work?+
A driver comes for the vehicle at the address and time agreed, with a condition report signed by both sides at collection and again on return. The charge depends on the zone — from €39 — and it is stated when you book. The vehicle must be insured and roadworthy.
Can I have a courtesy car?+
Yes, as an option, at €29 per day off the road — one day at least, even for a job done the same day — subject to availability. It is booked with your order; a driving licence and ID are required at drop-off.
Can my insurer cover the repair?+
For a declared claim, the price depends on the assessor's report and is not the one on this site: write to us at contact@ism-carrosserie.com with your claim number and a few photos, and we will draw up the quotation to send to your insurer. The services on this site are for work you pay for yourself.
Do you do full resprays and panel replacements?+
Yes, but on quotation: the price depends on the part, on its availability and on the condition of the bodywork. Come by the workshop in Pia, or write to us with photos.
A question left unanswered?
Write to us describing the damage, with two photos if you have them: one close up, and one from further back.
